a Chandigarh Medical Council further on the pattern of Punjab/Haryana Medical Council. He said it was important to have  a council for the simplification of registration and other related issues of the doctors.

Dr Dhir said preference would be given to the weaker section of society, especially those residing in urban slums and colonies, for holding health camps in order to provide benefits under various national health programmes. This way support would be provided to the UT Administration to improve the status of the health parameters in Chandigarh.

He also expressed gratitude towards all members of the IMA for posing faith in him and for choosing him as president of the association.
