CHANDIGARH: A three-day cultural extravaganza kicked off at the school. Students, their parents and members of the school management participated in various activities. Principal Gurnam Kaur Garewal said the aim was to encourage the students to bring out their latent talent. Cultural performances, including skits such as 'Walking in the jungle', 'Bond of friendship', 'Five elements', Plastic - Reduce, reuse & recycle', 'Mickey Mouse family', 'We all are family' conveyed social messages. The event concluded with 'qawwali', Rajasthani 'kalbelia' and bhangra.

Mohali: The school participated in Diwali festivities with enthusiasm. Little ones made beautiful cards for their parents. The beautiful 'thalis' made by KG and Class I students were appreciated by everyone. The school sparkled with decorated candles and 'diyas' made by students of Classes II and V. Those studying in Classes VI and VII made colourful rangoli. A painting competition was also organised depicting a green and clean Diwali.

Mohali: Students of the school formed a human chain to celebrate a cracker-free and pollution-free Diwali. The event was presided over by Mohali Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra. Students presented a cultural extravaganza. Handmade 'diyas', candles and rangolis were the highlights of the day.

Ashmah International  

Mohali: The school organised an anti-cracker campaign. Students took out a rally from the campus and marched up to Phase VII. They made the residents aware about the ill-effects of bursting crackers and advocated the idea of celebrating Diwali with candles, sweets and non-polluting green crackers available in markets. The students carried placards carrying messages such as 'Don't burst crackers, burst your ego', 'Burn your negativities, not crackers' and 'I am asthama patient, help me to breathe'.

PML SD Public

Chandigarh: Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) conducted a seminar for arts and commerce students of Classes XI and XII. Students were made aware of skilled-based graduate and postgraduate courses in fields of footwear, leather goods, retail and fashion.

ATS Valley 

Dera Bassi: A special yoga session was organised for students of Classes VIII and XI at the school. An expert taught various 'asanas' and exercises to students. She explained to the students the benefits of 'asanas' and encouraged them to make yoga a part of their daily life.

Stepping Stones  

Chandigarh: The school celebrated Global Handwashing Day. The aim was spread awareness regarding the need for cleanliness among the students. A powerpoint presentation "How to wash our hand" was shown to students. Dr Suman made students aware about the importance of washing hands. Students of junior classes were taken for hand washing to increase their awareness regarding the same.

Delhi Public 

Chandigarh: The pre-Primary wing of the school took an initiative to sensitise parents and their children towards social evils through street plays. They highlighted issues such as road safety, Swachh Bharat, pollution and childhood throughout the week through songs and enactment.

Saint Soldier   

Chandigarh: An inter-house solo singing competition was conducted at the school. Shivani of APJ Abdul Kalam House won the contest. The second position was bagged by Rohan of Rabindranath Tagore House, while the third position was shared by Mavneet of Rabindranath Tagore House and Rashneet of Shaheed Bhagat Singh House. Principal Vijaya Sidhu applauded the students for their performances.

The Knowledge Bus  

Mohali: The school organised a workshop on women empowerment. The objective was an attempt to highlight women issues, which affect their psyche, leading to insecurity, lack of self-esteem, anguish and depression.

St Xavier’s   

Mohali: The school celebrated Halloween Day with enthusiasm. Students exhibited their talent in art and craft. A competition was also organised in which students displayed their craft items. Magenta house bagged the first position.
