Former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister and Congress candidate from Panchkula Chander Mohan said tall claims of the BJP to win 75 seats in the state were only a ‘jumla’ and nothing else.

The Congress would win 65 seats in the state in the upcoming Assembly elections and would form the government, he said while addressing people during a door-to-door campaign at various places in the city.

He visited Herbal Park in Sector 26 and shared his views with people who told him that Haryana Shehri Vikas Paradhikaran was sending them enhancement although they had built their houses long ago. He assured them that he would try his best to solve their problem. He also told them that Sector 25 to 28 had been carved out by former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal and his main aim was to provide better living facilities.

He said Bhajan Lal had provided 45,000 plots to people. The Government Women Polytechnic College was set up in Sector 26 and thousands of girls had got benefit of it, he said.

When small shopkeepers told Chander Mohan that the GST and demonetisation had affected their business, he assured them that the GST would be simplified after they came to power. He said people had been fed up with the BJP government due to their anti-people policies. He also visited Ashiana Colony to seek support of people. He also launched a door-to-door campaign at Indira Colony and assured them that their problems would be sorted out on priority basis.

Ravinder Rawal, Shashi Sharma, Sohan Lal Devi Nagar, Om Shukla, Dalbir Balmiki, Dr Ram Prasad, Deepak Mishra, Sheela Devi and senior Congress leaders were among those who accompanied the Congress candidate.

Meanwhile, Siddarth Bishnoi, spokesperson of the Youth Congress, also launched a door-to-door campaign in housing societies in Mansa Devi Complex and urged them to support Chander Mohan so that a new era of development could usher in Panchkula.
