The TAAM drama ensemble from Manipur presented a verse play, ‘Andha Yug’, on the third day of the 14th TFT Winter Theatre Festival at Navrang Theatre here on Thursday.
Written by Dharmvir Bharati and directed by Joy Maisnam, the action-oriented play offered a glimpse from the epic Mahabharata — the mammoth story of love, revenge and struggle for power.
The play highlighted that every action of violence degraded society as a whole. It centred around Ashwatthama who released the ultimate weapon, the Brahmastra, to avenge the killing of his father and others.
Earlier, as a part of the TFT fest, a street play, ‘Tamasha-E-Hindustan’, was staged by Impact Arts at the Sector 17 Plaza. A ‘Ru-ba-ru’ session with Prof Prem Singh, a visual artist, was also held.
