The team is looking into allegations of a scuffle between Najeeb and ABVP students in Mahi-Mandvi hostel, JNU, and the circumstances that may have led to it as well as other events that preceded his disappearance.

It is likely to meet the suspects and people whose names have cropped up in the matter, sources said.

The case was transferred to the CBI following a demand made by Najeeb’s family members and agitating students of the university.

Najeeb's mother Fatima  recently met CBI officers who are investigating the case.
