Malout, September 25

Huge cracks have developed in the tehsil complex building in Malout, which was constructed in 1999, speaking volumes about the alleged poor quality of construction material used in it. Notably, the construction work was started in 1997 and completed in 1999. The then Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had inaugurated the complex in 2001.

An RTI activist, Sandeep Maluja, said the district administration should conduct some tests to check the strength of the building. “It is yet to be seen whether the poor quality of construction material was used or it happened due to poor upkeep. On the first floor, some cracks have appeared in the roof as well,” he claimed.
