Students show their best in sports meet

Students of Punjabi University Regional Centre, Bathinda, put up a brilliant spectacle of athletic prowess during the annual athletics meet being organised at the varsity’s regional campus today.

In 200 metre boys’ race, Gurpreet Singh, Kulwinder Singh and Nirmal Singh won first, second and third positions respectively.

In 200 metre girls’ race, Amarpreet Kaur, Veerpal Kaur and Amarjeet Kaur secured first, second and third place respectively. In 400 metre boys’ race, Kulwinder Singh, Hardeep Singh and Kawaljeet Singh secured first three places respectively.

Apart from this, in boys’ long jump event, Gurpreet Singh, Nirmal Singh and Kulwinder Singh secured first, second and third place respectively.

In boys’ shot put event, Ramanjeet Singh, Kawaljeet Singh and Hardeep Singh won first, second and third places respectively. In girls’ discuss throw event, Jaswinder Kaur, Baljeet kaur and Babita won first, second and third place respectively.

Lemon race, chati race and three-legged race remained the centre of attraction and drawn maximum applause from the spectators. Gurpreet Singh Sidhu, Assistant Education Officer, Bathinda, gave away the prizes to all the winners.
