The overflowing sewage in the Baba Deep Singh Nagar area has been causing inconvenience to commuters.

It seems that desilting of sewerage has not been done due to which it has choked. Owing to the overflowing sewage, the dirty water emitting a foul smell remains accumulated on the road, making it difficult for residents to pass the road.

Municipal councillor Sham Lal Jain today raised this issue with Mayor Balwant Rai Nath and demanded him to resolve this issue at the earliest.

Simranjit Singh, a city resident, said the major reason behind the problem was that the government did not do proper planning to tackle this menace. Residents of the area were suffering as diseases were also spreading as many a time, water overflew and remained stagnant.

Another resident Rinku said residents of the area were affected due to this and MCB officials should get this issue resolved at the earliest.
