NCC naval cadets felicitated

The All India Nau Sainik Camp (AINSC), a national level naval NCC camp, was conducted at Karwar in Karnataka from September 26 to October 3 in which the Directorate of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh stood first.

Six cadets of Bathinda unit from Dashmesh Girls College Badal and SBSB College, Sardulgarh, were part of the directorate team. They performed well in events like boat pulling, firing and rigging. For facilitating the cadets from Bathinda, award of rank and medal ceremony was conducted at 3 PB naval NCC unit at Bathinda. The cadets were awarded ranks of leading cadet, Petty Officer and Cadet Captain by the unit Commanding officer, Cdr Naresh Kumar Phutela.

The cadets from the Directorate have bagged four trophies and 33 medals in total in various competitions held at the camp. A total of 40 cadets, including 12 girl cadets, participated in the camp.

To prepare the cadets for the camp, four directorate-level naval training camps were conducted at the NCC Academy, Ropar, from June to September. The cadets had to go through rigorous training at these camps where they were imparted training in firing, drill, boat pulling and naval subjects.
