Janmashtami celebrated with religious fervour in city schools

Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with full fervor as city schools hosted traditional festivities and kids came dressed as Lord Krishna and Radha.

Dressed as Krishna, Radha 

Students of Little Kingdom Nursery School celebrated Krishna Janmashtami, an annual commemoration of birth of the Hindu deity Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu, on the school campus on Friday.

Students aged two to five were beautifully dressed up as Krishna and Radha. Images of Krishna’s infancy were placed in a cradle. The school was well decorated for the celebration and aarti and bhajans were recited and songs related to Janmashtami were played. A puja was performed by the staff and children of the school. Fragrance of flowers, soothing aroma of burning camphor and jingle of the bells filled the air. Prasad was distributed to all children after the puja. A small skit, signifying Janmashtami’s message of encouraging good will and discouraging bad will, was shown to kids.

Principal Shuchita Grover while addressing the kids spoke about the importance of the day and various aspects of Krishna’s youthful days, the dahi handi celebration and his playful and mischievous side. She said the holy occasion brought people together and signified unity and faith. She further said all religious festivals, including Gurpurab, Eid and Christmas were celebrated at the school to promote brotherhood among children and lay the right foundation. She said the festival was celebrated all over the world by Hindus.

Daddy’s Teddy students enthral audience

Tiny tots of Daddy’s teddy Playway School, Jhujar Singh Nagar, enthralled the audience with their performances during the Janmashtami celebrations on Friday. 

Students were dress up as Krishna, Radha, Meera and Balram. Principle Ritu Raonta told stories of Lord Krishna to students.

Principal shares Krishna’s stories 

Students of Bachpan, a play school’s main branch at Mata Jeevee Nagar, celebrated Janmashtami on Friday on their school campus. On this occasion, school principal Palak Jaura told children about the incarnation of Lord Krishna and stories associated with him. A raas-leela helped children understand the importance of Krishna’s biography, influencing them to adopt a noble charter. Jhanki of Krishna with the peacock wing at the top made hearts of tiny tots beating with joy and ecstasy. Later, children danced to enchanting songs of Krishna.

Sweets distributed among kids  

Students of Blooming Buds Playway School celebrated Janmashtami with great enthusiasm and zeal. Tiny tots, attired as lord Krishna and Radha, enthralled one and all with their performance. The school premises was decorated as lord Krishna’s village Gokul. In the end, the school headmistress, distributed sweets to the children who danced to the tunes of songs of Lord Krishna.
