Terming that innovation is the key to success, Mansa Deputy Commissioner Dharam Pal Gupta today appreciated the Mathematics Park constructed at the government aided school in Sahnewali village near Jhunir in Mansa district.
The DC was chief guest during the annual athletics meet at SGGS Adarsh Senior Secondary School and also inaugurated the newly built Mathematics Park. He spent time with the children and asked them about the usefulness of the park in driving away their subject-related phobia.
“Devising such innovative ways to educate children is the need of the hour. Initiatives like these help in making a subject like math interesting for the children,” the DC said while interacting with school teachers and students.
School principal Vinay Kumari said the concept of Mathematical Park was the brainchild of school teachers. “It took around 30 days and nearly Rs 3.3 lakh to construct the park which is proving very useful for students of Classes I to XII,” the principal said.
She said that the park was constructed on half-a-acre of land on the school premises which was lying unused for a long time. She pointed out that now the children were paying a lot of attention towards this park and learnt something new every time they visited the park.
The school principal further said that all the formulas, tables, usefulness and learning of triangles, learning addition and subtraction, counting and numerous other things are being displayed for the children in park for easy learning.
