Dashmesh School lift state cricket trophy

Faridkot, December 11

In the Inter-District Cricket Gold Cup (boys Under-17) tournament of the Punjab State School Games, organised at Gurdaspur, the cricket team of Dasmesh Public School, Faridkot, has won the title.

Teams from 22 districts participated in the state-level tournament. In the final round, the Faridkot school team locked horns with the Gurdaspur team.

Batting first, Dashmesh Public School team displayed good stroke play and scored 100 runs. Gurkanwar made contribution of 65 runs while Simranjit scored 15 runs. Chasing the target, the Gurdaspur team fell short of the target and ended up at 93 runs.

Faridkot bowlers restricted the opponent team with tight bowling skills. Gurveer claimed 3 wickets while one each was taken by Simranjit and Harsimran.

In their run up to the finals, the Faridkot team defeated teams of Sangrur, Muktsar and Bathinda.
