Annual techno cultural fest begins

The 28th two-day annual techno cultural festival Tarannum 2017 commenced at MRSPTU, Bathinda. The Vice-Chancellor was the chief guest during the inaugural ceremony. He laid stress on the importance of such events as these taught students how to work in teams and be disciplined.
Dr Hari Narayan Singh, Civil Surgeon, Bathinda, was the guest of honour at the event. He stressed the importance of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign and focused on the equal status and good education for the fairer sex in society. He urged the students to celebrate green Diwali. Prof Gursharan Singh, campus director, GZSCCET, Bathinda, also motivated the students and encouraged them to take active part in various events to have multi-faceted personalities.
Prof RK Bansal, dean, Students Welfare, highlighted the contribution of such techno-cultural events towards the shaping of young minds as this led to an overall grooming of their personality.
Under the category of technical events, Cad War was won by Shubham Chauhan and Amarjot bagged the second prize. In logics board, the first position was won by Shashi Vivek Nonia and Gaurav Kumar Mandal. In the solo song (girls) competition, the first prize was won by Kulveer Kaur. In the Hobby Club event, the winners of rangoli were Shweta Thakur and Priyanka. The winners of the treasure hunt were Shubham and Ria. Prof (Dr) Jasbir Singh Hundal, registrar, MRSPTU, wished the students luck.
