Vehicle thieves’ gang busted, four held

The city police claims to have busted a gang of vehicle thievesafter nabbing four thieves from Suka Talab at Sultanwind Road and recovered eight vehicles from their possessions.
The accused have been identified as Tarunbir Singh alias Shampi, a resident of Gurnam Nagar, Baljit Singh alias Bablu Jatt of Gurnam Nagar, Tajinder Singh alias Sunny, a resident of Sultanwind Road, Sukhpal Singh alias Sukha of Mustafabad and Akash Kumar, a resident of Verka.
Inspector Arvinder Singh, in charge, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), stated that a police team led by ASI Kulwinderjit Singh was on patrolling duty near Suka Talab.Three miscreants were roaming on an Activa scooter and a motorcycle in the area.
The cops intercepted them and asked them to show the ownership documents of the vehicles. During investigation, the police found that they had stolen the scooter and the bike. The accused confessed that they had stolen the scooter from the parking outside Gurdwara Shaheedan Sahib.
The police arrested the accused on the spot. During an in-depth investigation, the accused confessed that they had stolen eight scooters from various locations in the city.
Following the information revealed by the miscreants, a police team raided the house of Baljit Singh alias Bablu Jatt and recovered eight vehicles including four scooters and four motorcycles.
Inspector Arvinder Singh said, “ We have been investigating the matter. We will get police remand of the accused for further investigation. We hope that they will confess to some other crimes too.”
A case under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC has been registered against the accused. persons.
