Teachers paint walls to help children learn in innovative way

In order to improve learning abilities of students, teachers at some government elementary schools in the district have painted learning material on walls of their schools.
They have painted the walls on their own under the under the ‘Padho Punjab, Padhao Punjab’ initiative.
The teachers have to paint the walls innovatively due to limited funds available with government schools. Most of them have spent money from their own pockets.
Rajwant Kaur, a teacher at Government Elementary School, Chanihanga, Pultighar, said, “Children can remember some topics of their subjects as these are painted on walls in an innovative way. It will help them to get clarity on their subjects.”
The ‘Padho Punjab, Padhao Punjab’ project aims at improving the learning abilities of the students in a playful manner.
Students have been empowered with digital and interactive tools for better understanding of their subjects. A number of activities are being organised to catch interest of the students and work on their basics of subjects through practical study-based activities.
“I have always been inclined towards arts. I hope students will learn from it. I have only spent some money from my pockets,” said Baljinder Kaur from Government Elementary School, Dalam.
“We have painted a wall and work in this regard is still going on,” said Reena Hans, who has been working with her sister Anita Hans at Government Elementary School, Dhapai.
Manpreet Kaur, district coordinator, ‘Padho Punjab, Padhao Punjab’ said, “It is an initiative of these teachers to display the syllabus on the walls of schools. They have done some commendable work.”
