Amritsar, April 4

Hundreds of devotees participated in a shobha yatra organised to celebrate Ram Navami in Majith Mandi area today.

Rajya Sabha member Shwait Malik, MLAs Om Parkash Soni and Sunil Dutti, former minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla, former MLA Anil Joshi, Congress leaders Darbari Lal and Jugal Kishore and heads of religious institutions also became a part of the event organised by the Ram Navami Committee of Majith Mandi.

The yatra moved through various streets of the walled city. 

Anil Mehra, an organiser of the event, said, “Ram Navami marks the culmination of Chetraa Navrattras, the nine days during which lord Ram and goddess Durga are worshipped.” — TNS
