New office-bearers of Durgiana Committee

Durgiana Committee has earmarked Rs 33 lakh for the families, who were displaced during the beautification of the Durgiana Temple surroundings, in its house meeting held here today.

The decision was taken during the meeting held to elect its office bearers. Committee spokesperson Harish Taneja said 12 candidates had withdrawn their candidatures from the election. In all, 16 candidates had forwarded their candidatures. Remaining four candidates were elected office-bearers of the committee.

The elected persons are, Ramesh Sharma, president, Arun Khanna, general secretary, Brijmohan Prabhakar, finance secretary and Raj Kumar Wadhwa, manager.

Newly elected president Ramesh got a resolution passed to appoint former president Satpal Mahajan as senior patron of the committee.

In the 580-member House of the committee Ramesh Sharma read a report on works accomplished by the committee during the past five years.
