Nagar Kirtan taken out on 2nd day

The second day of the 66th World Sikh Educational Conference began with ‘Asa Di Vaar’ that was performed at Gurdwara Sri Kalgidhar Sahib, followed by the ceremonial proceeding of the Nagar Kirtan headed by Charanjit Singh Chadha, president, Chief Khalsa Diwan.
The kirtan started from Sri Guru Harkrishan International School, Ranjit Avenue, D-Block, with Giani Jagtar Singh, Head Granthi, Golden Temple, performing ardas. Mayor Bakshi Ram Arora, Chairman of the Improvement Trust Suresh Mahajan and other officials of the Municipal Corporation joined in as the procession passed en route. As many as 10,000 students from various CKD Schools participated in this devotional Nagar Kirtan.
Later, winners of various competitions like martial arts, dastar bandi and Mr Singh were awarded certificates and medals by the CKD management. Educators Enterprising Teaching Skills 2016, which featured demonstrations from educators from different institutions on concepts of technical education, was also held in the afternoon.
The Light and Sound show, “Vaho Pargtyo Mard Agamra”, dedicated to the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh was also staged for the second consecutive day.
