Amritsar: The horticulture department has appealed to the farmers to start honey bee cultivation (Apiculture) to increase their income. Deputy Director Horticulture, Gursharanjit Singh Chinna said, “The training for the cultivation is being provided by Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana and at all Krishi Vigyan Kendras. He said that farmers can supplement their income with this subsidiary occupation. Chinna said that the department would provide all technical know-how to farmers in this regard and interested farmers can contact the department officials. TNS

Youth booked for hurting religious sentiments

Amritsar: The city police have booked a youth for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. The accused is identified as Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of Partap Avenue here. Some Hindu groups yesterday submitted a memorandum in Division B police station after a video went viral. In the video, a youth was shown keeping a foot on Shiv linga.  Taking a serious view of this, the police immediately started the investigation and booked the youth under Section 295-A of the IPC and Section 66-A of Information Technology Act.  Mangal Singh, SHO Division B police station said that efforts were on to nab the suspect.
