Health centre made operational at Naraingarh

The district Health Department on Tuesday opened an urban community health centre (UCHC) in Naraingarh area near Chhehharta. The objective of the centre is to provide better health facilities to residents.

The centre will have the OPD service with three specialists and two medical officers. Equipped with four operation theatres, the UCHC plans to introduce and upgrade services with the arrival of a machine under the National Health Mission.

While attending an event at the centre, Civil Surgeon Dr Hardeep Singh Ghai and Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr Prabhdeep Kaur said Naraingarh UCHC was the first centre to become operational in the state, which had been sanctioned under the National Health Mission.

Senior Deputy Mayor Raman Bakshi was the chief guest at the event. He promised to help the department by providing security guards and sanitation workers. He said the facility would be a boon for residents of the area.

Dr Prabhdeep said starting the gynaecology theatre would be her priority and it would start functioning within next few days. The centre will also have a dental wing, X-ray facility and a diagnostic lab.
