Amritsar: The 15-day Gurmat Sikhlai camp organised by the SGPC concluded on Tuesday. The camp was aimed at connecting children, residing in border areas, to Sikhism. The camp was concluded at Kahlewal village. During the camp, children from several villages near the border were informed about values of Sikhism. The concluding day saw various competitions on Sikh religion, such as poetry, religious lectures and others. Students were awarded on the concluding day. TNS

Hiring for instructors

Interviews for various posts in the Department of Lifelong Learning at Guru Nanak Dev University would be held on August 8 at 2.30 pm. The last day for applying is August 3. Prof Suninder Tung, director of the department, said the eligible candidates could submit their application form for the posts of instructors for dress desiging cutting and tailoring, fashion technology, cosmetology and computer applications. Forms can be downloaded from www.gndu.ac.in and submitted to the department by August 3. TNS

Design students shine

Students of Bachelor of Design, BBK DAV College for Women, have secured top positions in the GNDU exam held in May 2017. In Semester IV, Magan secured the first position, Priyanka Thakur got ninth position and Tanu Mehra got 10th position. In Semester VI, Lavisha Saggar stood first, Ridhi Mehra third, Kamakshi Arora and Ridhima Mahajan fifth and Radhika Lakhesar and Manisha Mehta stood sixth. Vriti Mehra and Deepali Aggarwal bagged the eighth and 10th positions respectively. In Semester VIII, Urjita Sharma and Kajal Dhawan bagged the second and third positions, respectively. Principal Pushpinder Walia felicitated the budding achievers and encouraged them to maintain top positions in future as well. She also applauded the hard work of teachers who helped the students achieve merit positions. TNS

Entrance test on July 31

Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) is conducting an entrance test on July 31 to fill the vacant seats of MCA (TYC) first semester at GNDU College, Jalandhar, and M.Tech (CSE) and M.Tech (ECE) courses on the university campus for the session 2017-2018. Counselling on July 27

The Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) has announced the counseling schedule for M Pharmacy. The counseling for admission in the M Pharmacy course shall be conducted on July 27 at 9.30 am at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the university. TNS
