Foot overbridge ready for use

For the convenience of pedestrians, the BRTS authorities have built a new foot overbridge along the BRTS loop, parallel to the Bhandari railway overbridge (ROB). Built with iron and steel frame, it is being given finishing touches.

Manjit Singh, a resident of the Cooper road, said the bridge was extremely convenient to reach the other side without stepping foot on the Bhandari ROB. He said it would save time and improve traffic flow on the ROB.

Earlier, there used to be a walk overbridge, popularly known as ‘Paudiya Wala Pul’, made of iron bars. It was just a little away from the ROB. It was dismantled before constructing the BRTS loop.

The new foot over-bridge is more convenient as it is situated on the ramps of ROB. So pedestrians will find easy to access and move over it.

The foot overbridge will prove boon for pedestrians to conveniently and in short time to cross over either side of the invariably busy Bhandari Railway overbridge.
