Food street at Urban Haat to open soon

Amritsari kulcha, lassi, tea with jaggery, the famous Amritsari fish and vegetarian delicacies that have earned the city its culinary status, will now be available at one place.
Waiting for the opening of Urban Haat, a common food court inspired by Lahore’s famous food street, the project will soon be inaugurated as some of the stall owners have started setting shop.
The project of PUDA, set up in collaboration with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), will be functional as the new year sets in.
The Amritsar Development Authority planned to complete the work by Christmas, but the food stalls would take some time to set in. The Haat will have 15 modular with desi food joints including Ahuja’s Lassi, Sharma’s Vegetarian Dhaba, Bubby’s Chicken and Fish, and Amritsari Tandoori Kulcha. The international food chains would include Café Coffee Day, Pizza Hut and McDonald’s and will be operational after the tendering process is complete.
The Amritsar Developmnet Authority has kept the charging monthly rent for stalls between Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000.
