Delhi-based artist’s work on display at art gallery

A photography exhibition of a Delhi-based artist, Chandni Batra, opened at the city art gallery toady. Inaugurating the exhibition, Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, president, Indian Academy of Fine Arts and Convener Dr AS Chamak applauded the work of the artist. The work displayed reflected her travels and the moments she captured through her lens that ruffled her creative feathers.

Over the past eight years, a journey beyond limiting beliefs of the Indian society and creative visuals, Chandni has been travelling globally across boundaries to explore the life’s deeper meanings and realms that were and still are unseen, unheard and of course, visually unframed.

Being a typical North-Indian woman, it has not been always an easy cakewalk for her when it came to creating her niche in the Indian creative media industry, that too, without any godfather. “More promotional avenues for women artists should be created to encourage them towards exploring their full potential as an artist,” she said.

She says educative basic photography workshops would come up in the coming months, not to engage in building a trending business but to teach young artists including women enthusiasts to go beyond their self-limiting creativity, value this expressive art of photography as blessing and learn to understand and express themselves better with a liberal-mind.

Early in her career she assisted famous glamour photographer Rakesh Shrestha, working in the film fraternity with actors like Vidya Balan, Gul Panag, Jatin-Lalit, Sayali Bhagat and more.

In Chandni’s photo- exhibits and photo- workshops, she brings forth all her unexplored incredible visual journey’s perspective with an aim to understand and learn that we could extract from life itself.
