DAV awards 360 students

Around 360 students were awarded prizes and certificates of merits for their academic excellence and other curriculum performance during the 63rd Annual Award Presentation Function of DAV College here on Monday.
The students were also awarded prizes for their extraordinary performance in sports, CCA, NCC, NSS and other social activities. Students of NCC were awarded college color award for their spectacular performance during the academic session. Navdeep Singh Suri, Ambassador of India to the UAE was the chief guest and Dr Harwinder Singh Bhalla, Deputy DPI (Colleges), Department of Higher Education, Punjab, was the guest of honour. Besides, Sudershan Kapoor, chairman, local managing committee, was also present on the occasion.
Principal Rajesh Kumar read the annual report of the session 2018-19 of the college and also released college news bulletin ‘Campus Vibes’. Navdeep Singh Suri, alumni of DAV College, said, “It is very proud moment for me to be invited as guest in his own institution after 40 years to present awards for academic excellence to the prize winners. ”
He appreciated DAV College for its flexibility and easy teaching methodology which works as foundation for understanding the diverse needs of individuals and different sections of the society. He stressed upon the importance of creativity and intellect in one’s life. While speaking on occasion, Dr HS Bhalla appreciated the efforts of students and focused on importance of skill development, innovation, capabilities and entrepreneurial spirit that will be helpful in overall growth and development of the youth.
