Amritsar: The Scheduled Castes wing of the BJP observed Constitution Day on Sunday. Members of the party garlanded the statute of Dr BR Ambedkar outside Town Hall. District president of the wing, Verinder Bhatti, said contributions made by Dr Ambedkar for the upliftment of Dalit community couldn’t be ignored that as he had secured the voting rights for them.
SGPC honours student
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Sunday honored Balpreet Kaur for her performance in the religious studies examination 2016. Balpreet Kaur, a resident of Gurdaspur, stood second in all India examination. The SGPC has taken this step to motivate students to study religious studies. TNS
