City students erupt in joy as JEE-Mains result out

Engineering aspirants in the city were a joyous lot after the results of JEE-Mains were declared on Monday evening. Students were seen gathered at their coaching institutes, celebrating their success. Kanish Anand made the city proud by bagging 814th all India rank in the engineering examination conducted for admission to the National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology.
According to Kanish Anand, a student of DAV International School, while preparing for the exam, his day used to start at 6.30 am. “I followed a strict routine for my preparation. I am satisfied with the result. I am extremely thankful to my Wisdom Classes where I studied,” he says.
Kanish was accompanied by his parents Rakesh Anand, a business man, and Rachana Anand, a homemaker.
Piyush Gupta, who scored 949th rank was second in the city. “I devoted six to seven hours a day to studies.” Gupta has been a student of Bhavan SL Public School.
Talking about his son’s achievement, Anju Bala, a government teacher, said, “I am glad at his performance, he and his teachers at the FIITJEE have put all their efforts to help him get a good rank.” Gupta was also accompanied by his father Vivek Gupta, an advocate.
The third topper in the city , a student of Shri Ram Ashram School, Amritsar, Gurpreet Singh thanked his parents. “It is a big day. I will opt for computer engineering,” he said. His rank is 1,007.
Now, students will be competing in JEE-Advance.
Kanish shines
Kanish Anand makes the city proud by bagging 814th all India rank in the JEE-Mains. Piyush Gupta, who scored 949th rank, is second in the city. The third ranker in the city is Gurpreet Singh as his rank is 1,007.
