AMRITSAR: City-born actress and writer Sukhmani Sidana will shoot a scene in the upcoming film Manmarziyan. Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Tapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, the movie is directed by Anurag Kashyap and is currently being filmed in Amritsar and its periphery. “I have a very small role in the movie you can call it a friendly appearance. But it feels great to share screen with Abhishek and Tapsee Pannu. It is a very brief visit but it feels good to be home,” said Sukhmani. TNS

Banned pills seized from undertrial

Tarn Taran: The authorities seized 28 intoxicant tablets from an undertrial lodged in the Patti sub jail. The accused has been identified as Jaswinder Singh and his mother Joginder Kaur of Sarali Mandan village. Joginder Kaur is accused of providing the tables to his son Jaswinder when she came to meet him in the jail. A case under Sections 22, 61 and 85 NDPS Act and Section 52-A of the Prison Act has been registered against the accused. The mother of the undertrail has been arrested. OC
