Body of 47-yr-old man arrives from Dubai

A 47-year-old man’s body arrived at Sri Guru Ramdas Jee International Airport here on Thursday. Identified as Surjit Kumar of Hoshiarpur, he died under mysterious circumstances in Dubai.
The body was airlifted to Amritsar with efforts of Dr SP Singh Oberoi, chairman, Sarbat Da Bhala Trust. Manpreet Singh Sandhu, member of the local unit of Sarbat Da Bhala Trust, said Surjit returned to Dubai after spending holidays at home in February. On May 15, he went missing under mysterious circumstances. The police found his body on May 21 from a sand dune.
His family members had requested SP Singh Oberoi to help them airlift the body so that his cremation can take place in his village. The Dubai team of Sarbat Da Bhala Trust helped in preparing documents and made arrangements to airlift the body. The family has thanked the Trust.
Ironically, it is the fifth body in the last 15 days to have arrived from Dubai. The SDB Trust has airlifted 120 bodies of immigrants to Punjab till date.
