A day after two gangsters Jagroop Singh alias Rupa and Manpreet Singh alias Mannu Kussa were killed at an abandoned residential complex, a forensic examination team and police officials visited the spot and surrounding areas here today.

Sidhu Moosewala’s father gets death threats

  • Sidhu Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh allegedly received death threats on Instagram on Thursday.
  • Meanwhile Balkaur Singh visited the Amritsar Civil Hospital where he was shown the bodies of slain gangsters Jagroop Singh Rupa and Mannu Kussa, both were killed in a five-hour encounter at a village in Amritsar.

They seized 31 rounds of AK-47 rifle and a pistol from the spot. A bag that was also recovered from the spot yesterday had a broken mobile phone and bullets, said the police. Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Investigation), said a vehicle dropped the duo at the site. They were trying to identify the suspects, who dropped them at the house.

Will question building owner

We are trying to locate that vehicle that had dropped the killers at Hoshiarnagar and will also question the owner of the abandoned building where they had taken shelter. — Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar, DCP

“We had also found some tablets from the spot which were being analysed by the forensic team,” Bhullar said. The forensic team would determine whether the rifle recovered from the spot was the same AK-47 rifle that was used in the killing of Moosewala.

The police had also found a pistol of .45 bore, 9mm calibre and a hand grenade from there. Bhullar said it would take another two days for completely examine the area. A relative of Balwinder Singh Billa of Bhakna Kalan village expressed ignorance about the presence of gangsters in the house in Hoshiarnagar village. He said they used the house for storing and preparing fodder for the cattle. Billa was not present in the house when The Tribune team visited there. The relative said their tractor parked in the house was also hit by bullets.
