Another FIR against woman from Sector 51
Chandigarh, December 17
The UT police have registered another case against Manjit Kaur, a Sector 51 resident, who is accused of duping various persons by promising them allotment of Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) flats.
The police registered a fresh FIR against Manjit Kaur, Vijay Pal Singh and Sher Singh on a complaint of Judge Paul Mehta, who alleged that he was duped of Rs97.22 lakh on the pretext of allotment of flats under the discretionary quota in Sector 51.
The amount was paid between December 2019 and October 2020.
A case under Sections 406, 420 and 120-B of the IPC has been registered at the Sector 49 police station.
Manjit Kaur was arrested in July this year for allegedly duping a couple. Another case was registered against her in November on a complaint of Devinder Singh of Sector 51.
Two women had also complained against Manjit Kaur for allegedly duping them of Rs83 lakh on the pretext of the allotment of HIG flats in Sector 51, following which a case was registered on December 13.
Manjit Kaur used to claim that she had links with the then Punjab Governor. The same modus operandi was used to dupe all victims.
