Angural threatened by cops, says Bajwa
Jalandhar, July 8
As the Jalandhar West poll campaign ended on Monday sans the release of much-awaited audio evidence by BJP candidate Sheetal Angural against the AAP, LoP Partap Bajwa alleged some top police officials had threatened him against such move.
Accompanied by PCC chief Amrinder S Raja Warring, Bajwa alleged that Angural was called at a hotel where he had been threatened. “If Angural’s charges of extortion against the AAP leaders were false, why has the CM not contradicted him? I even dare BJP chief Sunil Jakhar to get the audios with Angural released since he would have got a copy of it. If no release is done, it will be believed that AAP and the BJP have become pally with each other”, Bajwa said. The LoP also said the AAP leadership knew about the audio evidence threat and had started preparing for gangster Daljit Bhana’s release on parole to handle him. “This is the reason why Bhana was seen around Angural’s house”, he said as Warring warned the Commissioner of Police, DC and Returning Officer of Jalandhar West of acting unfairly at the behest of the state government on polling day.
