World Sikh educational conference to begin on November 21

Headquartered in the holy city ace Sikh educational institution, Chief Khalsa Diwan, is all set to conduct the 68th World Sikh Educational Conference dedicated to Punjabi language at the birthplace of Khalsa — Sri Anandpur Sahib.

Addressing mediapersons at the head office of CKD here on Monday, Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar, president, said the CKD has been constantly conducting educational conferences since 1908. At

every conference, a topic is discussed threadbare keeping in mind the need of that time.

Giani Raghbir Singh, Jathedar, Sri Akal Takht, will preside over the conference and Kultar Singh Sandhawan, Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha, will act as the Chairman of the Reception Committee of the Conference.

Along with many other great personalities of the Panth, Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, and Giani Sultan Singh, Jathedar, Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, will also participate.

Today in Punjab, due to many reasons, Punjabi is facing difficulties, so we are dedicating this conference to Punjabi language as the need of the hour.

Punjabi subject experts from various universities and colleges will share their views in the seminars being conducted on the occasion of this conference.

Under the guidance of the Akal Takht, the Chief Khalsa Diwan will take concrete steps to form an educational board.

Jagjit Singh, vice-president, said that the main objective of the conference, will run for three days from November 21 to 23, to promote the Punjabi language and to make Punjabis aware of the continuous changes in the grammar of Punjabi.

We sincerely hope that this conference will prove to be a milestone in the history of Punjabi language.

Sukhjinder Singh Prince, additional honorary secretary, said Akhand Path will be started from November 19 and after offering of its bhog on November 21, a massive Nagar Kirtan will be organised.
