Workshop on cyber security held

Phulkari Women Of Amritsar hosted an informative workshop titled #HackMeNot with Rakshit Tandon, a noted cyber-security expert. Addressing the rising concerns related to hacking, cyber-attacks, phishing, scams and social media platforms being hacked, Tandon conducted a session on precautions and procedures to maintain while using technology. Dr Rakshit Tandon is a national cyber security expert and crime investigator on cyber forensics and ethical hacking for various law enforcement agencies in the coutry.
The event saw participation of around 250 women. “The world is currently grappling with the menace of cyber threats such as phishing and ransomware, making it imperative to adopt suitable precautionary measures. The event aimed to enlighten women about cyber security and digital safety. The entire evening was dedicated to empowering women with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves and their businesses from these threats. In today’s digital age, cyber security is a topic of utmost concern,” said Sheetal Sohal, president, Phulkari, WOA.
Introducing the concept of cyber security, Tandon talked about personal cyber hygiene, including creating passwords, two factor authentication, and delved deep into data protection, backup strategies, cloud, security, social media, online presence, digital footprint and much more in a lucid manner.
