Woman ends life at gurdwara, husband, in-laws booked
Day after a woman committed suicide by jumping from the top floor of the historic Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai in the Golden Temple complex, the police today booked her in-laws including her husband Vishal Kapoor in the case on charges of abetment to suicide.
They were booked following statements by the victim’s family who accused her in-laws of repeatedly harassing her. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Vishaljit Singh has confirmed the development and said that further probe was on. The suspects were yet to be arrested.
The post-mortem of the victim would be conducted tomorrow as her family members wanted registration of an FIR against her in-laws. As it took time to register an FIR, the autopsy could not be conducted today.
