US-based gangsters claim responsibility for blast inside Majitha police station

Hours after the blast at the Majitha police station on Wednesday night that Amritsar (rural) SSP Charanjit Singh termed as “tyre burst”, US-based gangster-turned-terrorist Harpreet Singh, alias Happy Pashia, and Gopi Nawanshehria and Jeevan Fauji have claimed the responsibility, saying it was a hand grenade attack.

Earlier, they claimed to have planted improvised explosive device (IED) outside the Ajnala police station that did not explode. The trio had also claimed for the blast at the Gurbaxnagar police chowki in Amritsar.

On Wednesday night, panic gripped in the Majitha area when a blast occurred inside the Majitha police station. The window glass broke and people started gathering outside the police station. The police officials closed the doors and did not even allow mediapersons to enter. The senior police authorities rushed to the spot while forensic teams were also reached there to scan the area.
