Two peddlers nabbed, 1 kg heroin seized

The rural district police nabbed two persons and seized two kg of heroin here today. The accused has been identified as Jatinder Singh, a resident of Naushera Dhala and Lovepreet Singh, a resident of Chahal village in district Tarn Taran.
Charanjit Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, stated that under the zero-tolerance policy against drugs, a team of Crime Investigating Agency (CIA) working on the instructions of SP (D) Harinder Singh arrested two drug peddlers with one kg of heroin . “The CIA team got a major success when they nabbed two drug peddlers, one kilogram of heroin and a motorcycle in Gharinda area. A case under Sections 25, 29, 61 and 85 has been registered under the NDPS Act. An investigation is being carried out. The forward and backward linkages of the arrested accused are being looked up and strict action will be taken against anyone whose involvement is found. The property amassed with black money is also being identified and if any such property is found, it will be frozen immediately,” said SP (D) Harinder Singh.
