Two nabbed for liquor smuggling in Amritsar

The city police have arrested two persons for their allegedly smuggling and selling Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).

The police seized 369 liquor bottles (30 boxes) of various brands from the possession of Ritik Kamal Kohli of Rajinder Nagar and his uncle, Raj Kumar, alias Babba, of Tehsilpura.

Assistant Police Commissioner (North) Maninderpal Singh said the police had received information that that the accused were selling IMFL in different parts of the city after illegally procuring them from Chandigarh. Following this, officials nabbed the duo. He said the seizure was made from Ritik’s residence. The officials then raided the farm house of Raj and seized nine bottles of scotch of different brands from him. One of their accomplices, Ashu of Rajinder Nagar, was absconding and raids were on to nab him, he added.
