Two persons were killed in separate road mishaps in the rural belt of Amritsar.

Balwinder Singh of Kathunangal Khurd was hit by a motorcycle when he went for a a walk, leading to his death. Balwinder Singh’s brother Gurminder Singh told the police that he, along with the deceased, went out for a walk when a motorcycle, being driven by Harjit Singh of Jahangir Colony, hit his brother. “He suffered severe head injuries, besides internal injuries. He fell unconscious on the road, while Harjit also fell on the road. Harjit fled the scene and left his bike on the spot. I took lift from a car and rushed Balwinder to a private hospital that referred him to Amritsar, where he succumbed to his injuries,” said Gurminder Singh.

In another incident, Davinder Singh of Kotli Naseer Khan died when his bike was hit by a tractor trolley last evening. Davinder Singh’s mother Sukhwinder Kaur said yesterday at around 7.30pm her son was going from Kotli Naseer Khan to Khaparkheri village when a tractor trolley tried to take him over. However, the tractor's side hit Davinder Singh’s bike. He fell on the road and died on the spot.
