Two held with 1-kg ice drug at Gharinda

The Amritsar Rural Police arrested two drug peddlers in Ghrinda area here on Sunday. The accused have been identified as Ravinder Singh and Dharampreet Singh, residents of Dholan village in Tarn Taran.
The police said the accused were going from Jhabal Road (Tarn Taran) and heading toward Rajatal, Attari side on an sport-utility vehicle (SUV). The police got a tip-off that the accused was supplying drugs to customers in the area. Acting swiftly, the Gharinda police station SHO along with his team arrested both accused with 1-kg ice drug (methamphetamine) and impounded the Innova vehicle they were travelling in.
A case under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered. The accused are being interrogated. The forward and backward links of the accused are being thoroughly investigated and strict action will be taken against whoever is involved, said the Station House Officer. The property bought with the drug money by the accused is also being identified and if any such property is found, it will be attached immediately, he added.
