Busting yet another trans-border narcotic smuggling network, the city police have arrested three drug peddlers and seized 2.15 kg heroin from their possession.

Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said those arrested were identified as Jagroop Singh of Ranike village, Jagjit Singh and Jashanpreet Singh of Rangarh village in Gharinda. “The trio was directly in touch with Pakistan-based drug smuggler Kaali, who was using drones to transport drugs across the border,” said Bhullar.

The Chheharta police received a reliable input that they had retrieved a huge consignment of narcotics and were going to deliver the same in the area, following which a trap was laid and the accused were arrested. Further probe was on to bust the entire nexus, said the Police Commissioner. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against them.
