Teachers honoured for their contribution to education

Teacher’s Day celebration was held today at School of Eminence, Mall Road, where teachers from across the district were honoured for their contribution in the field of education. A special morning assembly was organised by the students paying homage to their teachers through poems and speeches.

Mall Road School’s computer teacher Param Aftab Singh was felicitated by the Global Punjabi Heritage Foundation at its 20th annual event for his innovative thinking in the field of education. District Education Officer (SE), Amritsar, Harbhagwant Singh appreciated the teachers for introducing new methods of teaching and enabling classroom learning through innovative approach.

Global Punjabi Heritage Foundation, an active organisation for the preservation of Punjabi literature, culture and heritage, also felicitated several government teachers at Virsa Vihar on the eve of Teacher’s Day. The teachers were presented with a letter of appreciation, souvenirs and flowers. Foundation president Bhupinder Singh Sandhu said Shivdev Singh, an eminent artist and art educator, was given special honour and Satnam Singh Pakharpura was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.
