Science City celebrates creativity and innovation
Pushpa Gujral Science City celebrated Science Fest 2024 to promote innovation and creativity among school students by showcasing working models in various fields of science and technology. More than 400 students from different schools across Punjab participated and displayed their interactive and innovative models at the event.
Dr Neelima Jerath, former Director General, Science City, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In her address, she emphasised the inseparable link between development and technology, highlighting that technological progress stems from advancements in science.
Dr Rajesh Grover, Director, Science City, spoke about the critical role of innovation and creativity in today’s dynamic world. He highlighted that innovation has become a crucial driver for a nation’s sustainable growth and competitiveness in the face of globalisation.
Ritesh Pathak, scientist, encouraged young innovators to join the Innovation Hub facility at Science City to transform their creative ideas into practical applications. Dr Vikas Handa from Thapar University, Patiala, and Dr Anurag Sharma from GNA University, Phagwara, served as expert evaluators for the innovative projects presented by the students.
Result of the Science Fest 2024 : Innocent Heart School, Loharan, Jalandhar (Project: Revival); Sarvhitkari Vidya Mandir Bhikhi, Amritsar (Air pollution control) and LADM DAV Senior Secondary School, Budhlada, Mansa (Devin AI) got first, second & third position, respectively.
