Amritsar: Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC) marked the prestigious beginning of IKG PTU Zonal Youth Festival-2024 (North Zone) amidst great enthusiasm and cultural fervour. The festival aims to showcase and reward the diverse talents of youth in technical education. IKG Punjab Technical University Vice-Chancellor Susheel Mittal, who presided over the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest, emphasised the vital role of such festivals. He said the continuation of youth festivals was imperative to unearth hidden student talent, particularly in technical education. Punjabi singer Glory Bawa attended the event as the special guest. AGC Director Finance Ragini Sharma, AGC Managing Director Rajneesh Arora, AGC Principal Gaurav Tejpal, along with deans, heads, faculty and expert judges from various institutions, added prestige to the occasion with their presence. The first day of the festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 30 colleges.

Exhibition at GTB School

Amritsar: Students of Guru Tegh Bahadur International (GTB) School, Kalyanpur (Dhariwal), prepared 40 models related to science, commerce and mathematics during an exhibition held on Thursday. School Committee Chairman Tarsem Singh, Director Surjit Singh and Principal Barinder Jot Kaur said all students from classes to twelfth standard participated with great enthusiasm in this exhibition. Different models related to science, commerce and mathematics were prepared by the students on volcano, DNA, acid rain, supermarket, heart, kidney, green house, pollution, global warming, hydraulic electronic dam, accounting, trigonometry park, etc. are included. Gurdaspur District Education Officer Paramjit participated as the chief guest and encouraged the students. He was honoured by the organisers. The teachers as judges examined the prepared projects and the children were asked questions on the experiment design, method, results and materials used related to the projects.

Annual exhibition at Spring Dales

Amritsar: Spring Dale Senior School organised its annual exhibition ‘Litart.Com-2024’. Disseminating the ethos backing this widely acclaimed annual feature, Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, chairman of Spring Dale Educational Society, said the idea behind this event was to provide a platform where the young minds from different schools across the zone could exhibit and polish their literary, business and artistic skills. Sandhu elaborated that this event was comprised of events in form of competitions organised for debate, calligraphy, painting and business vision, etc. Competing with 167 participants coming from 19 schools across the zone during various rounds of this event, the team of Millenium Public School was adjudged to be the overall winner.

Doon top co-ed school in city

Amritsar: Doon International School has been adjudged the ‘No. 1 co-educational senior school day school’ in Amritsar and No. 2 in Punjab by EducationWorld, a private organisation. Chairman Rajeev Sharma and Dynamic Director Meghna Sharma appreciated all stakeholders and said this the achievement would not have been possible without the relentless efforts of teachers and the unwavering support and trust of parents. She expressed her gratitude for their partnership in shaping the future of the students.
