The last day of campaigning in the district ended with maha rallies and roadshows. Taking to streets with all their followers, big names in contest this time conducted multiple ground activities in their last-ditch attempt to woo voters before their fate is sealed on February 20 while their lesser-known opponents stuck to humble door-to-door activities.

Bikram Singh Majithia, candidate of the Akali Dal-BSP alliance from Amritsar East, began his roadshow by visiting Pingalwara campus and taking blessings of Dr Inderjit Kaur, director, All India Pingalwara Charitable Society. Riding a motorbike, Majithia toured the wards in Ajit Nagar, 100 Foot Road, Maqboolpura, New Amritsar, Golden Gate, Verka Chowk, Batala Road, Celebration Mall and ended his campaign at Shivala Temple around 5 pm. He said he would not leave any stone unturned for the development of the constituency.

Navjot Sidhu also hit the road to meet voters in his constituency as his daughter Rabia Sidhu conducted door-to-door campaigning in different wards of Amritsar East. OP Soni concluded his poll campaign by conducting a maha rally in Amritsar Central. MP Gurjit Singh Aujla joined Raj Kumar Verka in Amritsar West for a roadshow and door-to-door campaigning as Congress veteran Verka appealed to voters to help him make a hat-trick. The rally began from main Chheharta Bazaar and continued till late afternoon.

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia campaigned for AAP candidate Jeevanjot Kaur in a roadshow. Sisodia appealed to the people to press the button of ‘jharoo’ on February 20 to form an ‘honest’ government. “This time without being misled, save the future of Punjab and your children and vote for their good education,” he said. Several other AAP candidates restricted themselves to door-to-door campaigning.
