The office-bearers of Punjab Real Estate Dealers and Colonisers Association have decided to hold a protest on Bhandari Bridge in Amritsar wearing black badges tomorrow (October 2). Traders and real estate workers are demonstrating against the failure of the Punjab Government to implement the decision on abolishing the need for no-objection certificate (NOC) for sale of property.

State convener of the association, Sanjeev Rampal, said that in the recent session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha on September 2, the government unanimously approved amendments in the Punjab Property Apartment (PAPRA) Act. “As per the amendment, the condition of NOC for registration of flat below 500 square yards has been abolished and a gazette regarding this amendment has also been published. But contrary to this, the condition for NOC has not been abolished at the ground level till date. The decision of the government was not implemented,” said Rampal.

“The resentment of public would be visible in the upcoming panchayat elections,” he added.
