Punjab Police bust inter-state weapon smuggling module, 7 held

The Punjab Police have busted an inter-state illegal weapon smuggling module with the arrest of seven persons, a top police officer said on Thursday.

The module is linked to USA-based gangster Dilpreet Singh, Punjab's Director-General of Police Gaurav Yadav said, adding that 12 pistols, 16 magazines, and 23 cartridges were also seized.

Taking to X, DGP Yadav said the module was providing logistical support to various gangs by procuring weapons from Madhya Pradesh. He said an FIR was registered at Islamabad police station in Amritsar and a thorough probe in the case was on.

Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said Dilpreet was luring youth into arms smuggling.
