Property dealer gets extortion calls from gangster

A property dealer has received an extortion call from a jailed gangster, identified as Dharminder Singh Goli, who originally hails from Kazi Kot village in Tarn Taran. He had allegedly demanded ~50 lakh extortion from Andish Sharma, alias Bobby, of Sehaj Enclave located on the Majitha road here.

Baldev Singh, SHO, Majitha Road police station, confirming the incident stated that the accused would be brought on production warrant from Muktsar jail for further investigation.

The complainant said that the accused repeatedly called him on his WhatsApp number and threatened to kill him and his family while demanding ~50 lakh as extortion.

The police have registered a case under Sections 308 (2), 308 (4) and 351 (3) of the BNS in this connection.
