The Farmer Advisory Service Centre (FASC) here organised a farmer-scientist interaction at village Khiala Kalan in which experts from Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) addressed queries posed by the cultivators.

Dr Bikramjit Singh, Associate Director, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), asked the farmers to adopt recommended technologies and make efforts for practising sustainable agriculture. The scientists of FASC and KVK discussed with farmers the necessary steps required for paddy stubble management.

Farmers were asked to use PAU developed machinery as Smart Seeder, Surface Seeder and others for in-situ management of crop residue. Dr Rajan Bhatt, soil scientist, discussed soil fertility and nutrients management. Dr Gurmeet Singh, entomology specialist, motivated the farmers to adopt eco-friendly technologies and integrated pest management system.
