One killed in road accident

A resident of Gharka village falling under the Chohla Sahib police station, identified as Budhu Singh (45), died in a road accident on Saturday. The family of the deceased found his body on roadside nearby Gujarpura village.

Balwinder Singh, elder brother of the deceased, said Budhu Singh left home for doing labour work near Gujarpura village on Saturday morning. When he did not return home till late evening, his family started searching for him. Balwinder Singh said they found Budhu Singh’s body lying on the roadside near Gujarpura village. He said it appeared that Budhu Singh was run over by some unidentified vehicle. ASI Gurmukh Singh said a case under Sections 106 (1) and 281 of the BNS had been registered in this regard. — OC
